Unit Head – SF Process Controls and SBP Reporting

About the role

The Bank of Punjab is seeking a senior professional to lead its SF Process Controls and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reporting function within the Global Payment Services Division. This role is responsible for establishing robust control frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving process efficiency across operational and support functions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor effective process control frameworks across the unit.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, SOPs, regulatory guidelines and operational risk standards.
• Conduct periodic process reviews, identify control gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk Management and external regulators on control‑related matters.
• Lead process re‑engineering and automation initiatives to improve efficiency and control effectiveness.
• Oversee timely and accurate submission of all regulatory returns to the SBP, including data validation, reconciliation and integrity checks.
• Liaise with SBP and internal stakeholders on reporting queries, inspections and regulatory observations.
• Maintain documentation, audit trails and reporting records for regulatory and audit requirements.
• Supervise BCP and fire‑drill exercises and manage audit and compliance reviews (COSO, ICFR, KRI).
• Lead, mentor and develop unit staff, allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, IT, Treasury and other business units to ensure alignment and reporting accuracy.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in banking operations, process controls and regulatory reporting.
• Strong knowledge of SBP prudential regulations and internal control standards (e.g., COSO, ICFR).
• Proven leadership ability to manage and develop high‑performing teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on risk mitigation.
