WordPress Developer Intern

About the role

Rankviz is looking for a WordPress Developer Intern based in Johar Town, Lahore, working on-site from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The role is full-time and market-competitive in pay, and calls for an experienced developer who can handle website development, customization, troubleshooting, maintenance and performance optimization independently. It is not a page-builder-only position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, customize and maintain WordPress websites for different clients and business needs
• Convert Figma designs and AI-generated or AI-built websites into clean, responsive WordPress sites
• Customize and extend themes, plugins, templates and functionality
• Build custom features with PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Work with Elementor, WPBakery, Divi and other page builders, and with WooCommerce, custom post types, ACF, forms and other WordPress functionality
• Implement basic API integrations and connect WordPress with third-party services
• Troubleshoot and fix WordPress, plugin, theme, PHP, JavaScript and compatibility issues without breaking existing functionality
• Optimize sites for speed, performance, responsiveness and security, and handle migrations, staging, backups and deployments
• Review existing websites and code, and collaborate with designers, SEO specialists, project managers and developers

Required profile

• 3-6 months of hands-on professional WordPress development experience
• Ability to work independently and solve practical problems
• Strong attention to detail (spacing, typography, responsiveness, functionality)
• Good communication skills for technical and non-technical requirements

Required skills

• Strong practical knowledge of WordPress and PHP
• HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Experience creating and customizing WordPress themes, templates and functionality
• Elementor, WPBakery, Divi and WooCommerce
• Hooks, actions, filters, template hierarchy, custom post types and custom fields
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and API integrations
• Preferred: cPanel/Plesk, Cloudflare, website migrations, third-party plugins, integrations, forms, payment gateways and external services
