Area Engineer

About the role

Unilever is seeking an experienced Area Engineer to ensure smooth operations at its Foods Factory in Lahore. You will lead maintenance activities, drive reliability initiatives, and support continuous improvement in a fast‑moving consumer goods environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead shift technicians during breakdown maintenance and supervise daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance inspections.
• Develop and implement a Maintenance & Reliability strategy that includes condition monitoring, preventive maintenance and run‑to‑failure plans based on equipment criticality.
• Conduct safety compliance inspections, maintain equipment records, and manage the purchase of service components while applying localization tactics to reduce costs.
• Analyze equipment failures, determine root causes and execute corrective actions.
• Identify new technologies and automation opportunities to lower overall manufacturing costs.
• Oversee inspection and documentation of quality and consumer‑safety critical equipment.
• Create training‑need analyses for mechanical technicians and improve both personnel and equipment knowledge indices.
• Lead the preventive maintenance pillar within World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and collaborate with project teams on new projects and innovations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience in a similar maintenance or reliability engineering role.
• Strong leadership abilities, results‑driven mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
