Deputy Manager – Income Tax

About the role

We are looking for a Deputy Manager Tax (Income Tax) to lead our income‑tax function. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with the Income Tax Ordinance, develop tax strategies and support the finance team with accurate reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all income tax matters, ensuring compliance with the Income Tax Ordinance and related regulations.
• Develop and implement income tax strategy and policy, guaranteeing statutory compliance and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and file Income Tax Returns and withholding tax statements in line with FBR rules.
• Handle tax audits, appeals, and other proceedings related to income tax.
• Prepare and submit documents for tax exemptions under relevant sections of the Income Tax Ordinance.
• Respond to notices issued under various sections of the Income Tax Ordinance promptly.
• Calculate and assist in tax‑related computations for financial statements and tax assessments.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate income tax audits and reviews.
• Provide guidance and support on income tax matters to internal teams and management.

Required profile

• ACCA finalist, M.Com or ACMA qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in income tax management and compliance, preferably in a tax firm or similar industry role.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Income Tax Ordinance, recent updates and judicial decisions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with tax‑related software such as IRIS.
