Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

Wärtsilä is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliable operation of plant equipment at its LPTL facility in Faisalabad, Pakistan. You will be responsible for maintaining a range of critical assets, including large reciprocating engines, HRSGs, compressors and pumps, while supporting the company’s mission of enabling sustainable societies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled mechanical maintenance on engines, HRSGs, centrifugal separators, reciprocating compressors and centrifugal pumps.
• Inspect completed work to verify compliance with specifications, safety standards and quality guidelines.
• Implement maintenance procedures, monitor condition of tools and parts, and take corrective actions as needed.
• Assist supervisors with problem solving and root‑cause analysis for plant equipment.
• Ensure adherence to Wärtsilä and customer QHSE policies, including permit‑to‑work, lockout/tagout and housekeeping.
• Work on general and rotating shifts as required.

Required profile

• DAE/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of maintenance experience in large reciprocating‑engine power plants.
• Ability to work at height and in high‑temperature environments.
• Strong cultural awareness and communication skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on maintenance of internal combustion engines.
• Proficiency with general tools, power tools and measurement tools.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments used in engine overhauls.
• Root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving capabilities.
