Senior Accountant – UK GAAP & VAT (Islamabad)

About the role

Magna Foodservice is seeking a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Islamabad. The role focuses on UK accounting standards, VAT compliance, and financial reporting, supporting UK‑based management without direct team leadership responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP.
• Conduct thorough account reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting activities for financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with UK VAT regulations, prepare VAT returns, and support audit processes.
• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and perform double‑entry bookkeeping.
• Utilise advanced Excel functions (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, financial formulas) for analysis and reporting.
• Work with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite, to streamline accounting workflows.
• Coordinate with UK‑based management to resolve accounting issues and deliver timely reports.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Continuously improve accounting processes for greater efficiency.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards (UK GAAP) and VAT regulations.
• Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, financial formulas).
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
• Proficiency in preparing UK VAT returns and managing tax compliance.
