Tax and Audit Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking a Tax & Audit Subject Matter Expert to work remotely on an hourly contract basis. You will evaluate AI‑generated tax and audit responses, create high‑quality accounting content, and provide detailed feedback to improve model performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content by creating prompts and gold‑standard outputs for tax scenarios, audit programs, workpaper examples, and control assessments.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses for technical correctness, clarity, compliance alignment, and practical usefulness.
• Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, unsafe or non‑compliant guidance, and bias, ensuring reliability across business scenarios.
• Review AI‑generated solutions for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to prompts; identify errors in tax treatment, audit methodology, risk assessment, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Fact‑check technical claims, write model solutions, and provide precise written feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field; CPA/ACCA/EA/CIA is a strong plus.
• 5+ years of professional experience in tax and/or audit (public accounting, advisory, internal audit, or industry).
• Strong command of tax fundamentals (corporate/individual, credits, deductions, nexus, VAT/GST, withholding).
• Strong command of audit fundamentals (planning, materiality, risk assessment, control testing, substantive procedures, sampling, audit evidence).
• Proven ability to prepare clear, defensible workpapers and documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail, C1‑level English proficiency, and self‑directed work style.
