Maintenance Engineer – Automation & Production

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and optimisation of the plant’s production line, equipment and automation systems. The role combines hands‑on mechanical and electrical work with digital control expertise to ensure high availability and safety of all assets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute maintenance plans for production lines, process vessels, rotary equipment, electrical networks, utilities and building structures.
• Prioritise and coordinate vendors, subcontractors and specialist service providers.
• Manage spare‑part inventories and consumable stores, ensuring cost‑effective stock levels.
• Lead corrective maintenance and troubleshooting while adhering to HSE and operational excellence standards.
• Improve technical availability, reliability and condition monitoring of automation and digitisation assets.
• Maintain and upgrade PLC and HMI systems that control process equipment and utilities.
• Steward maintenance KPIs, track maintenance costs and analyse equipment performance data.
• Maintain an approved supplier list and organise training programmes for maintenance staff.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of production‑line components such as pumps, vessels and electrical distribution.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in safety procedures for high‑ and low‑voltage environments.
• Ability to work digitally and use maintenance management software.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive attitude toward reliability.
