Retail Branch Manager (PJ)

About the role

Habib Metropolitan Bank Limited is hiring a Retail Branch Manager to lead and oversee branch operations with a focus on retail banking. The role covers managing a team, driving retail sales performance and maintaining high customer service standards. It works closely with the Cluster Manager to implement business plans, meet targets and sustain branch profitability. The bank is recruiting across several cities in Pakistan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead retail operations in line with internal policies and State Bank of Pakistan regulations, including KYC/AML
• Develop and run sales strategies with the Cluster Manager to attract new customers and grow profitability
• Manage and motivate staff through training, performance feedback and career development
• Oversee customer experience and prepare regular reports for senior management
• Implement loss prevention measures and compliance protocols, and monitor competitor activity and market trends
• Execute annual and interim business plans and budgets, mobilize deposits and optimise the deposit mix
• Maintain the asset-to-liability portfolio ratio and supervise daily operations such as account opening, lockers, ATM management and deposit processing
• Ensure safekeeping of keys, combinations and stamps, and conduct surprise checks of GL heads and key accounts
• Review control reports such as STRs and dormant/inoperative accounts statements, and analyse branch MIS reports
• Set clear goals, run fair performance evaluations and appraisals, and map career paths for high-potential staff
• Prioritise the security of the branch facility, staff and assets, and act as the main point of contact for audits, grievances and administrative issues

Required profile

• At least 10 years of banking experience, including supervisory responsibilities
• Strong leadership, energy and persuasive communication skills
• Understanding of banking competitors, sales strategies and regulatory frameworks such as State Bank of Pakistan guidelines
