Senior Associate, Payment Operations (Arabic Cheque Clearing)

About the role

Mashreq Global Network Pakistan is hiring a Senior Associate for its Payment Operations team. The role checks and verifies transactions on English and Arabic cheques in the clearing and centralised PDC area, ensuring they meet turnaround times and operating procedures so customers are satisfied.

Key responsibilities

• Check, verify and authorise English and Arabic cheque transactions within delivery standards, ensuring accuracy, authenticity and compliance with procedures.
• Ensure maker and checker entries are completed before cutoff and that service levels are met.
• Complete work without needing supervisor follow-up.
• Learn the processes and operating systems thoroughly and identify training needs.
• Maintain and update documents and correspondence records systematically.
• Identify gaps and recommend improvements to reduce risk and improve delivery standards.
• Ensure all clearing and collections accounts are balanced at the end of day.
• Learn the 2C process and handle correspondence with internal stakeholders and business relationship managers.

Required profile

• 3 to 4 years of experience in back-office operations in cheque clearing banking.
• Ability to read Arabic cheques (words and numbers).
• Good knowledge of general banking rules and regulations.

Required skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer operating skills.
