Accountant (On-Site, Karachi)

About the role

Tax Care, which serves more than 4,000 clients across the USA with tax preparation, bookkeeping, accounting and payroll services, is looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join its team on-site in Karachi, Pakistan. The role covers the full accounting cycle for a mix of individual and business clients, from day-to-day bookkeeping to financial reporting and analysis, working closely with the team and communicating clearly with clients.

Key responsibilities

• Bookkeeping and core accounting: record and categorize transactions, manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, and maintain the general ledger.
• Financial reporting: prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, draft footnotes and disclosures, perform consolidations and intercompany eliminations, and build management reports and dashboards.
• Financial analysis: analyze budget versus actual variances, prepare cash flow forecasts, normalize financial statements, support quality-of-earnings assessments, and perform working capital and net debt analysis.
• Client service: respond to client questions with clear, professional guidance and collaborate with the team to meet deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP.
• Ability to work on-site in Karachi.
• Nice to have: professional certification (ACCA, CA, CPA or local equivalent); experience at a public accounting or tax and accounting firm; exposure to transaction advisory work such as QoE, normalization or net debt analysis.
