Accounting Manager – eCommerce Clients

About the role

A remote Accounting Manager leads a team of 2 to 4 accountants and owns a portfolio of 10 to 25 eCommerce client files, with several month ends running in parallel. The clients are 7 to 9 figure eCommerce brands in the US and Canada. The role is fully hands-on, with full EST hours (9am to 5pm, every working day) and direct contact with founders and the team during the day.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review the work of a team of accountants, giving direct feedback on performance
• Own full-cycle accounting across multiple client files and review financials for both logic and accuracy
• Run month-end close on a five-day cycle, with the busiest period in the first ten business days
• Handle client conversations, including delays and bad news
• Improve processes and identify automation opportunities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or a professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, CIMA, ACA, CMA or equivalent; in progress counts
• 5+ years in accounting, in a firm or multi-client environment
• 2+ years reviewing or managing other accountants' work
• Experience with three or more separate client books at once, each with its own deadlines and stakeholders
• Experience with clients or employers outside your own country, ideally in the US or Canada
• History of meeting a fixed month-end deadline
• Ability to hold live calls with North American clients (B2 English, C1 preferred)

Required skills

• In-depth, hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero or a similar cloud ledger (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Zoho Books); QuickBooks Desktop, Tally or on-premise ERPs alone are not enough
• Nice to have: eCommerce or consumer goods clients, inventory and COGS experience, QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification, FP&A or financial modelling, ClickUp or similar project management tools
