Assistant Manager Supply Chain (Imports)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Supply Chain (Imports) will oversee end‑to‑end import planning, customs clearance, and vendor management for high‑value medical imaging equipment in Pakistan.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate shipments, maintain live import tracker, and select optimal Incoterms and transport modes.
• Handle customs classification, duty/tax computation, and filing of Goods Declarations via WeBOC/Pakistan Single Window.
• Manage clearing agents and freight forwarders, negotiate rates, service levels and monitor performance.
• Work with banks on Letters of Credit and Financial Instruments, reconcile records and ensure timely payments.
• Ensure compliance with DRAP medical device import rules and PNRA authorizations, track NOC applications and escalations.
• Control logistics costs, monitor demurrage, arrange insured inland transport, and manage spare‑parts inventory.
• Synchronise shipment releases with site readiness, handle urgent service‑critical spares, and report status to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Commerce or related field; master’s or professional certification is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with Pakistan customs procedures, HS/PCT classification and valuation.
• Proven track record negotiating with clearing agents, freight forwarders and shipping lines.
• Experience dealing with commercial banks on LC opening, amendment and retirement.
• Familiarity with DRAP medical device import regulations and PNRA clearance for radiation‑emitting equipment.
