Assistant Resident Engineer – Structure

About the role

SMEC is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer – Structure to join a Roads and Highways project in Kuchlak, Balochistan, Pakistan. The role involves supervising structural works, particularly bridges and related structures, to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Team Leader in reviewing and approving structural designs for bridges, culverts, and related works.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
• Prepare, review, and submit progress reports while maintaining proper documentation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and local authorities to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Identify and resolve on‑site technical issues related to structural works, providing practical solutions to maintain timelines and quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a Master’s in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience, including at least 8 years supervising highway structural projects.
• Proven experience in a consultancy environment with a track record of delivering high‑quality structural works.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.

Required skills
