Billing Specialist

About the role

The Billing Specialist will support accurate and timely billing across the Quote‑to‑Cash process at Motive, a platform that helps physical operations manage safety, operations and finance in one system. You will work with multiple internal teams to resolve billing issues, maintain data quality and support month‑end close.

Key responsibilities

• Execute standard billing activities such as processing charges, generating invoices and monitoring account billing status.
• Review billing documents and account data for accuracy, obtain missing information and ensure data integrity across systems.
• Create customized invoices, validate credits and refunds, and resolve routine billing inconsistencies.
• Research and resolve billing‑related support cases, escalating non‑standard tax, refund or policy issues as needed.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Account Management and Order Management to remove billing blockers and support quote and order completion.
• Support month‑end close by completing billing activities, applying period cut‑off procedures and providing timely reporting.

Required profile

• 1+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, payments or finance operations; SaaS and Quote‑to‑Cash experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and ability to follow established procedures while managing competing priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively across Finance, Operations, Sales and Customer Success teams.
• Availability to work US business hours (9 p.m.–6 a.m. PKST) Monday‑Friday with occasional month‑end or quarter‑end coverage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Experience with internet‑based business applications and ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Zuora or Salesforce is a plus.
