Branch Manager - Microfinance (MFI)

About the role

A Microfinance Branch Manager is needed in Gujrat to run the branch and grow its business. The role covers loan disbursement targets, field team management, portfolio quality and customer relationships within the microfinance business of an NBFC.

Key responsibilities

• Drive branch growth through customer acquisition, loan disbursements and portfolio expansion.
• Manage and monitor the performance of field officers and other branch team members.
• Ensure monthly business targets, collection efficiency and portfolio quality are met.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base in assigned locations.
• Monitor loan sourcing, group formation, customer verification and disbursement processes.
• Ensure timely collections, control overdue accounts and minimise portfolio delinquency.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor team performance and customer engagement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, RBI guidelines and internal procedures.
• Maintain branch MIS, business reports and daily performance trackers.
• Handle customer grievances and keep branch operations running smoothly.

Required profile

• Graduate in any discipline; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• 3-6 years of experience in Microfinance (MFI) operations.
• Prior experience as a Branch Manager or handling a branch independently.
• Experience managing field teams and achieving business targets.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of MFI lending, JLG formation, group loans, disbursements and collections.
• Good knowledge of portfolio management, collection efficiency and delinquency control.
• Leadership, communication and team management skills.
