Category Specialist – Sweets & Confectionary

About the role

The Category Specialist for Sweets & Confectionary will drive commercial performance, ensure product availability and support supplier development within METRO Pakistan’s wholesale network.

Key responsibilities

• Own commercial KPIs such as sales, margin and shelf coverage for the sweets and confectionary category.
• Source products, develop suppliers and manage the end‑to‑end supply chain to achieve 100% shelf availability.
• Conduct regular market and competitor surveys and respond quickly to market shifts.
• Collaborate with sales, merchandising and store operations teams for B2B customer development and in‑store merchandising.
• Manage promotions from price finalisation to execution and post‑promo analysis.
• Ensure compliance with tendering and negotiation SOPs and maintain audit records.
• Initiate and design new projects to grow top‑line and bottom‑line performance.

Required profile

• University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and result‑orientation skills.
• Analytical and strategic competence with a growth mindset.
