Category Specialist – Sweets & Confectionary

About the role

The Category Specialist for Sweets & Confectionary will drive commercial performance and ensure product availability across METRO's wholesale network in Pakistan. You will work closely with sourcing, sales, merchandising and promotion teams to grow the category both top‑line and bottom‑line.

Key responsibilities

• Own commercial KPIs such as sales, margin and shelf coverage for the sweets & confectionary category.
• Source and develop suppliers, ensuring a smooth supply chain that achieves 100% shelf availability, accounting for seasonal and market dynamics.
• Conduct regular market and competitor surveys and respond quickly to competitive actions.
• Collaborate with the sales team on B2B customer development and with merchandising and store operations on in‑store presentation.
• Manage end‑to‑end promotions, from price finalisation to stock follow‑up, shelf execution and post‑promo analysis.
• Ensure compliance with tendering and negotiation SOPs, maintaining audit records such as tenders, price confirmations and supplier documentation.
• Initiate and design new projects to drive significant growth for the category.

Required profile

• University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Management or related field.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and result‑orientation skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to devise strategic initiatives.
