Department Manager – Fresh Meat & Fish

About the role

The Department Manager for Fresh – Meat & Fish reports to the Customer Experience Manager and is responsible for stock ordering, maintaining optimal stock levels, and leading store associates in merchandising and cleanliness.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with stock ordering and maintain optimum stock levels in the department.
• Lead store associates in mass merchandising, shelf management, stock management, and departmental cleanliness.
• Improve productivity and operational efficiency within the department.
• Assist the Customer Experience Manager in achieving departmental sales targets.
• Ensure overnight department preparation according to Dark Store Operations protocols and readiness before store opening.
• Maintain product presentation according to the planogram and comply with SOPs, company policies, and applicable protocols.
• Conduct quality assurance checks using defined protocols and checklists.
• Monitor product expiry dates, enforce FIFO practices, and ensure effective stock and shelf management.

Required profile

• Graduation with less than 6 years of relevant experience, or Intermediate with 6 or more years of relevant experience.
