Economist – Energy Efficiency & Conservation

About the role

The Economist will lead economic and financial analysis for energy efficiency and conservation (EE&C) initiatives in Pakistan, providing evidence‑based insights to support policy development and sectoral strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Review, update and strategize economic analyses across EE&C thematic areas.
• Prepare policy advocacy materials such as white papers and impact evaluations.
• Support the establishment of energy efficiency standards, programs and labeling regimes.
• Identify barriers to EE promotion and propose targeted policy interventions.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop EE&C policies and assist in drafting PC‑1 documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or a related field from a HEC‑recognized university.
• 8–10 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in the energy sector.
• Strong analytical, leadership and communication abilities.
