Head of Internal Audit

About the role

The Head of Internal Audit will lead YAP Pakistan’s internal audit function across both technology and non‑technology areas. You will define the audit strategy, oversee risk‑based audits, and strengthen internal controls to enhance organisational resilience and transparency.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategic direction of the internal audit function.
• Develop a dynamic, risk‑based annual audit plan aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee planning, execution, and reporting of financial, operational, and compliance audits in line with IIA and COSO standards.
• Assess design and effectiveness of internal controls, leveraging data analytics and automation.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies, supporting examinations and responding to findings.
• Deliver concise audit reports to senior management and the board, highlighting risks, gaps, and recommendations.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and maintain issue logs.
• Collaborate with business leaders on enterprise risk management initiatives.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing internal audit team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably within banking or fintech.
• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management, and auditing standards.
• Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or ACCA.
