Information Technology Support Engineer

About the role

This position is for an Information Technology Support Engineer who provides technical support to users and acts as the first point of contact for problem resolution. The role covers onboarding and offboarding, infrastructure monitoring, security hardening, hardware and OS installation, account management and incident handling.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to users and handle onboarding and offboarding smoothly.
• Monitor and maintain client and server infrastructure.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot antivirus and endpoint security solutions, including protection status, policy compliance and alert remediation.
• Install and configure hardware, networks, printers and scanners, and install operating systems, applications and security controls, including device encryption.
• Manage user accounts and access controls, and gather data to diagnose system problems.
• Document configurations, procedures and troubleshooting steps.
• Respond to service issues by face-to-face, phone or remote desktop, prioritizing multiple open cases.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and join the on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or a similar role, with hands-on experience designing, implementing and managing systems infrastructure.
• Mandatory hands-on knowledge of antivirus and endpoint security solutions.
• Knowledge of server operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix).
• Experience with system performance monitoring, tuning and optimization.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
• Certifications such as MCSE are a plus.

Required skills

• Server hardware, virtualization platforms and storage solutions.
• Windows, Linux and macOS; scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell and Bash.
• Networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware) is a plus.
• Good communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
