Junior Civil Engineer - Quality Inspection

About the role

Bureau Veritas is hiring a Junior Civil Engineer in its BNI department, reporting to the Operations Manager / Team Leader. The role covers quality inspection of civil works, products and installations to verify conformity with specifications, drawings and standards, with some tasks carried out independently under minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quality inspection (surveys, monitoring or examination) of civil works, products and installations against specifications, drawings and ITPs
• Carry out, validate and witness site testing, and inspect according to pre-defined inspection procedures
• Identify non-conformities and prepare inspection reports, including NCRs and other deliverables
• Interpret layout, structural and architectural drawings and inspection results
• Ensure inspection quality according to the Bureau Veritas quality system and maintain internal and external communication with clients
• Complete business information such as invoicing and timesheets
• Follow HSE rules: stop work if conditions are unsafe, use PPE, report hazards and incidents, and comply with local HSE policies

Required profile

• Civil engineering degree
• 0 to 3 years of experience in the construction industry
• Ability to read drawings, method statements and inspection procedures, and to carry out inspections with supervision
• Results-oriented, service-driven, customer-focused and rigorous problem solver

Required skills

• Inspection of buildings, roads, equipment, products and installations
• Basic knowledge of inspection techniques and ability to interpret drawings
• Understanding of inspection procedures and quality systems
