Mechatronics / Electronics Technician – DIY Motion Simulator Build (8‑16 weeks)

About the role
We are building a custom 4‑DOF motion racing simulator from scratch. The project runs for 8–16 weeks and requires a hands‑on technician to follow a detailed builder’s manual, source components, wire and test the system, and integrate the software.
Key responsibilities
- Source parts from local markets (e.g., Shershah Scrap Market, Saddar Electronics, Bolton Market).
- Wire and test four motors, potentiometers, and motor drivers according to the provided wiring diagram.
- Flash and tune Arduino firmware for each motor.
- Set up the PC, install SimTools, and configure the racing software (Assetto Corsa).
- Assist with the physical assembly of the full rig.
Required profile
- Mechatronics, electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering students or recent graduates.
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience building Arduino‑based projects.
- Comfortable with physical work, market trips, and on‑site fabrication.
- Available for the full 8–16‑week project duration.
Required skills
- Arduino programming and firmware flashing.
- Working with motor drivers and DC/stepper motors.
- Soldering and wiring of electronic components.
- Use of a multimeter for troubleshooting.
- Basic PC setup and familiarity with SimTools or similar simulation software.
