Medical Billing Coordinator (Customer Service Experience)

Edge, a global talent network connecting talent with US healthcare and insurance employers, is looking for a Medical Billing Coordinator with strong customer service skills. The role supports medical billing operations and ensures a smooth, positive experience for patients. It is full-time and remote, with a Monday to Friday schedule aligned to US business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Review diagnosis (ICD-10) and procedure codes (CPT/HCPCS) before claim creation.
• Prepare and submit clean electronic claims (837P / CMS-1500) through EHR systems and clearinghouses.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, authorizations and billing documentation.
• Monitor claim status, resolve rejections and errors, and apply payer guidelines and timely filing limits.
• Analyze denial codes, fix documentation or billing issues, and prepare revised claims or appeals.
• Post payments from EOBs and ERAs, reconcile balances and manage underpayments.
• Process credit card payments, issue statement balances and handle refunds or adjustments.
• Follow up on accounts receivable, escalate unresolved claims and handle patient billing inquiries.
• Communicate with patients, providers, administrative teams and insurers, and safeguard PHI in line with HIPAA and payer compliance.

Required profile

• Based in Karachi; excellent written and spoken English.
• Full-time availability Monday to Friday, aligned to US business hours.
• Previous customer service, medical scheduling, patient coordination or medical billing experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with US healthcare providers, practices, hospitals or insurers is preferred.
• Familiarity with US health insurance plans (PPO, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid) and medical billing processes is an advantage.
