Office Manager / Accountant

About the role

SMEC is seeking an experienced Office Manager/Accountant to support a major Water Resources and Irrigation project based in Hyderabad, Pakistan. The ideal candidate has strong experience in office administration, financial accounting and project support, preferably within infrastructure or engineering consultancy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day project office administration and operations.
• Maintain financial records, including accounts payable, receivable, petty cash and project transactions.
• Prepare financial reports, budgets and expenditure statements.
• Process staff timesheets, expenses and reimbursements.
• Monitor project expenditure and keep accurate financial and administrative records.
• Coordinate office facilities, supplies, vendors and project logistics.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, project procedures and applicable regulations.
• Provide administrative and financial support to the Project Manager and project team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in office management and accounting.
• Experience in water resources, irrigation, infrastructure or engineering consultancy projects is an advantage.
• Track record of achievement in a related role, with experience in a consultancy environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational, financial management, communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
