Platform / DevOps Engineer (Reliability & BCDR) – Night Shift

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Platform/DevOps Engineer to own production reliability end‑to‑end on a night‑shift schedule (6 pm – 3 am). You will automate deployments, verify backups, run disaster‑recovery drills and keep our services highly available.

Key responsibilities

• Automate and harden CI/CD pipelines to make production releases repeatable and low‑risk.
• Design, execute and document backup verification, restore exercises and BCDR drills, tracking RTO/RPO.
• Maintain production uptime through monitoring, health checks, capacity planning and incident response.
• Keep Grafana dashboards and alerts accurate and low‑noise.
• Write and maintain operational runbooks for deployment, incident handling, failover and common failures.
• Automate secrets management and rotation, removing long‑lived credentials.
• Improve infrastructure‑as‑code consistency using Terraform/OpenTofu, Docker and cloud resources.
• Support SOC2/health‑care compliance with evidence collection, access reviews and audit trails.
• Partner with engineering on PostgreSQL operations across environments.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in platform or DevOps engineering, preferably on night shift.
• Strong ownership mindset: you build and operate systems, not just ticket them.
• Experience running real BCDR/DR drills, not only documentation.
• Comfort with scripting (Bash, Python or JavaScript/TypeScript) for automation.

Required skills

• Terraform or OpenTofu in production.
• Docker and Docker‑Compose.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions or equivalent.
• PostgreSQL backup/restore, basic HA and migration coordination.
• Grafana, Prometheus and Loki (or equivalent observability stack).
• Secrets management tools such as Vault, Infisical or cloud secret managers.
• Scripting in Bash, Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
