Refugee Legal Counsel

About the role

SHARP Pakistan (Society for Human Rights and Prisoners Aid) is looking for a Refugee Legal Counsel to provide legal counseling and assistance to refugees, helping them understand their legal rights, government policies and pathways to durable solutions. The role involves organizing and leading awareness sessions and legal camps, and works closely with the Protection Officer. Candidates must state their preferred duty station in the application.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual legal counseling and assistance to refugees on their rights and options
• Facilitate access to information on refugee protection, government notifications and durable solutions
• Organize awareness sessions and legal camps on current legal developments
• Assist in legal and protection assessments and handle protection referral cases
• Track incoming and outgoing referrals and follow up on them
• Coordinate with the Protection Officer on weekly plans and priorities
• Manage and track cases, update records and help maintain electronic and physical archives
• Support public events such as meetings, roundtables and technical working groups
• Design forms, questionnaires and templates for legal aid and strengthen referral mechanisms
• Build relationships with beneficiaries through regular visits and share information with community leaders and authorities
• Contribute to monthly reports and other records, and perform other tasks assigned by supervisors

Required profile

• At least two years of experience
• Attention to detail in case management, reporting and legal documentation
• Ability to collaborate with community representatives and authorities
