Regional Credit Risk Head

About the role

The Regional Credit Risk Head will lead credit risk activities for the Central and North regions of a major banking client in Lahore. Reporting to senior risk leadership, the role ensures compliance with State Bank of Pakistan regulations and internal policies while safeguarding the bank’s portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Review and recommend credit proposals for the assigned regions, ensuring alignment with SBP guidelines.
• Support the Head of Corporate Risk and Chief Credit Officer in shaping credit risk strategy, policy updates, and product programmes.
• Analyse economic, industry and regulatory trends to identify emerging risks.
• Manage classified and problematic corporate credits, developing mitigation and recovery plans.
• Conduct portfolio reviews, stress testing and early‑warning assessments.
• Monitor portfolio indicators and reporting requirements in line with MCC, SBP and BRC standards.
• Collaborate with Credit Administration on approval conditions, security documentation and exception tracking.
• Coordinate internal and external audit reviews related to credit risk.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of corporate credit risk experience within the banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of SBP regulations, credit analysis, portfolio management and risk governance.
• Proven ability to assess complex credit proposals and manage stakeholder relationships.
