Remote Accountant - Full-Cycle Bookkeeping (EST Overlap)

About the role

This is a remote, worldwide position for an independent contractor who handles several eCommerce client files at once, each with its own books and deadlines. The work covers reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, accruals and prepaids, and a five-day month-end close for 7- to 9-figure brands. Work is reviewed by an accounting manager or senior accountant before reaching the client, and payment is made in Canadian dollars.

Key responsibilities

• Full-cycle bookkeeping across a portfolio of client files, from bank feeds to a closed month.
• Support month-end close: reconciliations, schedules and supporting workpapers.
• Record payroll entries, prepaids and accruals accurately.
• Prepare sales tax filings and remittances.
• Check your own work before it goes to review and raise discrepancies early.
• Action review notes fully and on time.

Required profile

• 3+ years in accounting or bookkeeping, including at least 1 year in a firm, BPO or multi-client environment.
• A professional accounting qualification or one in progress (ACCA, ICAP, ICMA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent); part-qualified and finalists count.
• Experience with multiple separate clients and full-cycle bookkeeping, including a month-end close.
• Ability to follow written instructions precisely and to work with clients outside Pakistan, ideally in the US, Canada, UK or Australia.
• English strong enough to be understood in writing and on a live call.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online or Xero; certification funded during onboarding if needed.
• Nice to have: inventory and COGS experience, sales tax and multi-jurisdiction compliance, ClickUp or similar project management tools.
