Self-Assessment Lead

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Self-Assessment Lead to manage end‑to‑end UK personal tax returns for our clients in Lahore. The role combines deep knowledge of HMRC regulations with leadership of a junior tax team and a client‑focused advisory approach.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accurate and timely preparation of UK Self‑Assessment tax returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
• Review work of junior staff, identify discrepancies, and highlight tax planning opportunities.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation, respond to HMRC enquiries and communicate tax liabilities to clients.
• Serve as primary advisor for clients with complex income streams, including dividends, rental income, capital gains, pensions and foreign income.
• Manage client relationships, monitor deadlines and proactively gather information for submissions.
• Lead, mentor and allocate work for tax assistants and junior staff, providing training on technical and software tools.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automate workflows and maintain internal dashboards tracking submission status and team KPIs.
• Stay up‑to‑date with UK tax legislation and ensure team‑wide compliance.

Required profile

• Professional certification such as ACCA, CA or CIMA (preferred).
• Minimum five years of experience in UK Self‑Assessment tax, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of UK personal tax regulations and HMRC compliance.
• Excellent communication and client‑handling abilities.
