Senior Accountant – SME Client Portfolio

About the role

The Senior Accountant delivers a high-quality, technology-driven client service across accounting and advisory functions, combining traditional accounting expertise with leadership, systems knowledge and client-relationship excellence. You will manage a client portfolio, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, VAT returns and accounts production for SMEs. The salary is competitive, around Rs 200,000 to 300,000 per month depending on skills and experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients.
• Complete bookkeeping tasks on a daily basis.
• Ensure accuracy, efficiency and compliance across all deliverables.
• Maintain data integrity across all software and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial accounts and schedules for the balance sheet.
• Provide clear financial analysis, commentary and KPI insights.

Required profile

• Education (ACCA or Master's) in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Good understanding of FRS 102 1a and FRS 105.
• Knowledge of UK VAT tax rules (a must).
• Knowledge of UK corporation tax.
• Advanced user of Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent.
• Excellent general computer skills, including the MS Office ecosystem.
• Ability to dive deep into data to identify issues and solutions.
• Proven ability to manage and complete complex tasks, strong attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
