Senior Accounts & Tax Manager (ACA Qualified)

About the role

The General Manager – Accounting & Tax will lead the financial accounting, taxation and statutory compliance functions of a large private hospital. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls and effective tax management to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, maintain the general ledger and ensure timely month‑end and year‑end closings.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage all direct and indirect tax matters, including income tax, sales tax, withholding tax and payroll taxes, and ensure timely filing of statutory returns.
• Lead the Accounts Payable function, monitor payment cycles, vendor aging and working‑capital efficiency.
• Coordinate with tax consultants, external auditors and regulatory authorities on assessments, audits and compliance issues.
• Support ERP implementation and finance‑automation initiatives to improve reporting efficiency.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with extensive experience in financial accounting and tax compliance.
• Proven leadership capability in a complex, dynamic environment, preferably within the healthcare sector.
• Hands‑on experience managing large‑scale accounting operations, statutory reporting and tax planning.
• Strong understanding of local tax laws, SECP regulations and international accounting standards.
