Senior Commodity Coordinator

About the role

Save the Children Pakistan is seeking a Senior Commodity Coordinator for its USDA-funded McGovern-Dole Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program in Pakistan. The Sindh Sustainable School Meals (SSSM) project works in selected districts of Sindh, reaching schools and vulnerable children through school meal interventions. Working under the Manager Supply Chain, the coordinator oversees commodity operations across the supply chain, from receipt and warehousing to distribution, reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support commodity forecasting, distribution planning and pipeline monitoring, and prepare commodity movement plans aligned with school feeding schedules
• Oversee receipt, inspection, recording and storage of commodities, conduct monthly physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies
• Coordinate dispatches to schools, distribution points, milling facilities and partners, and ensure transport documentation is complete
• Coordinate deliveries to flour mills, monitor milling schedules and fortification, and maintain the audit trail from mill to hub
• Maintain commodity tracking systems and databases, prepare monthly commodity accounting reports and reconcile physical stock with system balances
• Support donor regulations, SCI policies and internal controls, and assist internal, external and donor audits
• Take part in local and regional procurement oversight, including vendor pre-qualification, aflatoxin testing verification for rice and market studies
• Provide technical guidance and training to warehouse teams, commodity assistants and implementing partners

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Agriculture, Development Studies or a related field
• Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in commodity management, warehouse operations, logistics, food assistance, procurement support or supply chain management
• Child safeguarding Level 3: ensures partners follow the safeguarding policy, provides age-appropriate safeguarding information in Urdu/Sindhi and completes vetting and background checks
