Senior Editorial Manager - Educational Publishing

About the role

Kifayat Publishers is looking for an Editorial Manager to lead the planning, development and quality of its educational content, from textbooks and workbooks to teacher guides and digital learning resources. The role reports to the Publisher / Head of Content / Managing Director and is based on-site in Karachi.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the editorial plan for each academic year, aligned with national and provincial curricula and market needs
• Identify gaps in the product range and propose new titles, series and digital offerings
• Work with Sales and Marketing to understand school and teacher feedback and shape content accordingly
• Monitor curriculum changes and competitor publications
• Oversee the full publishing cycle: commissioning, manuscript development, editing, proofreading, design review and final approval
• Ensure accuracy, readability, age-appropriateness, inclusivity and alignment with learning outcomes; review lesson structure, exercises, assessments and answer keys
• Verify copyright compliance, permissions and proper sourcing of text and images
• Support the adaptation of print content into digital formats such as e-books, LMS content and interactive exercises
• Manage a team of editors, writers, reviewers and designers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field (Master's preferred)
• 6-8+ years of experience in educational publishing or content development, including 2-3 years in a leadership role
• Strong command of curriculum standards and K-12 pedagogy
