Senior Software Engineer - Python

About the role

CONVO is looking for a Senior Software Engineer specialized in Python to build the shared runtime, orchestration layer, tool registry, and SDK that power its agentic platform. You will design and implement asynchronous, distributed backend services using FastAPI and graph‑based orchestration while integrating vector and graph databases.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the shared runtime, planner, tool registry and SDK used by multiple teams.
• Develop asynchronous orchestration and planning services that translate intents into executable agent workflows.
• Maintain tool‑call contracts, agent SDK, and runtime APIs.
• Integrate graph and vector persistence for workflow state, memory and retrieval.
• Implement MCP‑compatible interfaces and adapters for internal and external tools.
• Design failure handling, retries, idempotency, timeouts, tracing and deterministic replay.
• Create developer documentation, reference implementations and automated tests for consuming teams.

Required profile

• 6+ years of backend or distributed‑systems engineering experience.
• At least 2 years working with workflow orchestration, LLM applications or agent runtimes.
• Strong understanding of API and SDK design, schema versioning and backward compatibility.
• Experience with failure‑prone, asynchronous workflows and automated testing.
