Senior Tax Accountant - Accounting Compliance & Reporting (ACR)

About the role

EY's ACR tax service line in Karachi offers clients an integrated, consistent and quality service covering tax compliance, statutory accounts preparation and tax accounting calculations. The role sits within the Accounting Compliance & Reporting area of the firm's Tax practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with financial digital processes such as year-end closings, audit assistance and financial statements
• Support tax compliance (corporate tax returns, VAT returns) and general accounting, credit control and internal optimization projects
• Prepare management reports, budgets, analytical bookkeeping, financial health assessments and competitor analysis
• Manage day-to-day client engagement requirements, monitor progress and deliverables, set standardized processes and escalate issues as needed
• Supervise high-performing teams, coach and counsel juniors and ensure adherence to Tax Quality guidelines

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, taxation or a related field
• Preferred: MBA, master's degree or professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA or ADIT
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a large professional services firm
• Strong communication, detail orientation and management experience

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax rules and procedures
• Preferred: experience with multinational clients, tax compliance, financial reporting and ERP systems such as SAP
• Analytical, management and leadership skills, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
