Service Engineer - Chinese Speaker

About the role

Nalco Water, an Ecolab company, is looking for a Chinese-speaking Service Engineer to join its water treatment team. The role manages and develops long-standing client relationships, with a focus on exceeding client expectations and delivering service through technical projects that solve customer problems. The candidate lives in Karachi, Hyderabad or Thar, and travel is required to support the sales territory.

Key responsibilities

• Provide routine service support to Sales Representatives in strategic district accounts, executing agreed customer system assurance and continuous improvement plans.
• Assist Sales Representatives with plant surveys of prospective customers and with start-ups of new applications in existing and new accounts.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders in strategic district accounts and support other District Sales Representatives.
• Provide technical support to customers, identify and resolve pain points and escalate as required.
• Analyse systems, interpret data and give written recommendations so customer operations run at optimal levels.
• Carry out sample testing, light maintenance, service report generation, chemical ordering and inventory management, and general labour activities.
• Follow Ecolab safety guidelines and incident reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2-4 years of technical service or field sales support experience.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Ability to work in a variety of conditions and to pass a drug screen and physical exam.
• Preferred: water treatment or specialty chemicals experience, and knowledge of boilers, cooling towers and wastewater treatment systems.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel spreadsheets preferred).
• Ability to sell value-added products to customers and to handle large national and multinational customers.
