About the role

Rohi News is looking for a Social Media NLE (non-linear editor) based in Lahore to turn newsroom material into clear, engaging video clips for digital audiences. The role combines non-linear video editing with social media production, working closely with editorial colleagues to keep accuracy, quality and a consistent publishing workflow. It is an on-site position in a fast-paced news environment.

Key responsibilities

• Edit news footage into concise, polished videos using non-linear editing software.
• Prepare social-ready clips, headlines, captions and formats for relevant digital platforms.
• Coordinate with newsroom teams to identify stories, confirm editorial priorities and meet publishing deadlines.
• Check video, audio, graphics, captions and factual details before publication.
• Organize project files and media assets, and revise content promptly after editorial feedback.
• Keep up with social video formats and audience trends while maintaining editorial standards.

Required profile

• Hands-on experience with non-linear video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent.
• Ability to select and shape news footage into concise, coherent social video packages.
• Understanding of platform-specific aspect ratios, durations, subtitles and publishing formats.
• Strong command of video and audio editing fundamentals, including pacing, transitions and sound levels.
• Clear written communication for headlines, captions and basic metadata.
• Attention to detail when checking names, facts, visuals and captions.
• Ability to coordinate with editors and newsroom colleagues under tight deadlines, organized media management and sound editorial judgment.
