Software Engineer

About the role

A Software Engineer is sought for a full-time position in Karachi, within the Software Development department. The engineer designs, develops, tests and maintains software applications and works with colleagues to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software applications
• Write clean, efficient, reusable and maintainable code
• Develop and integrate APIs and third-party services
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve software issues
• Collaborate with developers, designers, QA engineers and other stakeholders
• Perform code reviews and follow software development best practices
• Test applications for quality, performance and security
• Take part in technical discussions, sprint planning and project meetings
• Maintain technical documentation and improve existing systems

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Java, C# or PHP
• Knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms and object-oriented programming
• Familiarity with Git, REST APIs and software testing
• Preferred: frameworks such as React, Angular, Node.js, Django.NET or Spring Boot; cloud platforms, Docker and CI/CD tools; Agile/Scrum
