Treasury Dealer – ALM & FX Management

About the role

The Treasury Dealer will execute and manage asset‑liability management (ALM) and foreign‑exchange (FX) transactions, ensuring optimal liquidity, balance‑sheet efficiency and effective investment portfolio management. The role involves close interaction with regulators, counterparties, customers and remittance partners while maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage PKR and foreign‑currency liquidity to optimise revenue.
• Maintain reserve and liquidity ratios in line with State Bank of Pakistan requirements and internal policies.
• Update the Money Market Blotter to meet reserve obligations.
• Control FX and interest‑rate exposures within regulatory and internal limits.
• Oversee the bank’s investment portfolio to achieve profitability targets.
• Execute interbank placement agreements.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, business practices and ethical standards.
• Support enhancements to the Treasury system and contribute to policy, process and procedure development.
• Assist the Head of Treasury with ALCO matters and overall ALM function.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in a bank’s treasury function.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or finance; a master’s degree in finance or CFA designation is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Islamic finance principles and Shariah‑compliant product structuring.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and lateral‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to make rapid decisions under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Adaptable and open to change, fostering an agile work culture.
