Unit Head – Payments & Transactions

About the role
We are seeking a senior leader to head the Payments & Transactions unit, overseeing end‑to‑end bulk payment processing, RTGS, term deposits and returned payment handling. The role combines operational excellence with strategic coordination across treasury and technology teams.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of bulk payments, RTGS, term deposits and returned payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Enforce dual‑authorization and checker‑maker controls across all transaction flows.
- Plan capacity and schedule shifts for a team of 13 full‑time employees.
- Coordinate with Treasury on cut‑off times and Nostro account reconciliation.
- Lead user acceptance testing for technology enhancements affecting payment processing.
- Produce and maintain KPI and management information packs for the payments stream.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in banking operations.
- At least 3 years of experience managing a payment processing team in a centralized environment.
