Urdu Voice Artist for Voice AI

About the role

A technology startup is building an Urdu voice AI and is hiring a voice artist to record and annotate Urdu scripts. The work is done remotely, with flexible hours around weekly targets.

Key responsibilities

• Read provided Urdu scripts into a microphone in a clear, sustained, consistent voice; sessions can be at home or in a studio depending on quality needs.
• After each session, listen back to your own recordings in a web tool and mark utterance boundaries on the waveform.
• Write a verbatim transcript, word for word, including English words that appear code-switched into Urdu.
• Write a normalized transcript in clean Nastaliq, with numbers spelled out.
• Tag quality flags such as background noise, misreads and code-switches.

Required profile

• Native Urdu with a clear, warm reading voice; standard Urdu register or a well-articulated Karachi / Lahore / Peshawar accent.
• Fluent reading of long Nastaliq passages, including Arabic and Persian loanwords.
• Working English, since training materials, the labeling tool and some scripts are in English and recordings contain code-switched English.
• Prior voiceover, radio, news reading, naat recitation or audiobook narration experience.
• Ability to type in Nastaliq (Phonetic or InPage layout).
• Experience with recording sessions and taking direction; theatre or acting background and university-level Urdu literature coursework are optional but useful.

What we offer

• Pay of PKR 25,000 to 45,000 per month.
