US Tax Preparer – Federal & Multi‑State Compliance

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented US Tax Preparer to join WebLife’s finance team. The role focuses on federal and multi‑state income, franchise and sales‑use tax compliance for a portfolio of e‑commerce entities, offering a clear path to deeper advisory responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review US federal income tax returns for WebLife and its e‑commerce portfolio.
• Manage multi‑state income, franchise, and sales‑use tax filings, including nexus tracking and economic‑nexus monitoring.
• Conduct tax research and analysis to identify compliance risks and potential tax‑saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with the finance team to integrate tax considerations into financial planning and reporting.
• Maintain a compliance calendar to ensure all filing deadlines are met.
• Stay current on changes to US federal and state tax laws and regulations.
• Provide support during tax audits and liaise with tax authorities as needed.
• Develop and maintain documentation for tax positions, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with state‑level tax compliance, with a focus on California where applicable.

Required profile

• Enrolled Agent (EA) designation strongly preferred; CPA or equivalent qualification with an active US tax practice also considered.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in US federal income tax preparation and compliance.
• Prior experience serving US clients, such as within a US CPA firm’s offshore team or a Big 4 tax practice.
