Utilities Officer

About the role

GSK is looking for a Utilities Officer to lead the day-to-day upkeep of utility systems that keep its site running safely and efficiently. You will work closely with engineering, operations and contractors to keep utility systems well maintained and compliant, supporting a site in a regulated manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of utility systems such as HVAC, chillers, boilers, cooling towers and water treatment plants.
• Ensure timely maintenance and repair of utility equipment to support safe and efficient site operations.
• Manage the availability of spare parts and keep accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Work with contractors and internal teams to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Support sustainability initiatives, including water management and energy conservation.
• Take part in risk assessments, inspections and continuous improvement activities related to utilities.

Required profile

• Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a related engineering field.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in utility maintenance or facility operations.
• Practical knowledge of utility systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers and water treatment.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
• Familiarity with environmental health and safety (EHS) standards and compliance.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate their resolution.

Required skills

• Strong record-keeping and documentation skills.
• Good communication and collaboration across teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of sustainability practices such as energy and water conservation.
• Experience managing contractors and suppliers.
• Problem-solving and organisational skills.
