Warehouse Assistant

About the role

BrightSpyre is looking for a Warehouse Assistant to support the Senior Commodity Coordinator in the day-to-day management of warehouse operations. The post reports to the Senior Commodity Coordinator and involves keeping records up to date, supervising loading and unloading and maintaining a clean, well-maintained warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Update warehouse inventory records regularly
• Maintain documentation of all goods received, dispatched and disposed of
• Ensure proper stacking and storage of inventory
• Maintain bin cards for all inventory
• Prepare Goods Receive Notes (GRN), waybills and gate passes as needed
• Support maintenance of warehousing facilities
• Supervise loading and unloading of goods received at the warehouse
• Supervise local and casual labour
• Support updating of the soft ledger and stock movement report
• Keep the warehouse clean, well maintained and suitable for use
• Carry out any other related duties assigned from time to time

Required profile

• At least two years of relevant experience
• Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field
• Experience working with NGOs, UN agencies or MNCs in supply chain capacity, especially warehousing and inventory in emergency and development contexts
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office, Excel and Word
