Accountant – Full‑time Chartered Practice

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Accountant to join our Chartered Accountancy practice on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role involves handling a variety of UK‑focused financial accounts and supporting the team with year‑end and tax compliance work.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial accounts from trial balances, single‑entry Excel records and other source documents.
• Develop supporting working papers and schedules in Excel.
• Execute year‑end adjustments such as accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation and deferred income.
• Reconcile key control accounts including bank, tax liabilities and loan accounts.
• Calculate corporate and income tax liabilities and submit electronic returns.
• Communicate findings via email and verbally with clients and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification (ACCA, ACA, MBA Finance, MCom, BCom, BBA Hons or equivalent).
• Strong spoken and written English.
• Experience with UK accounts or bookkeeping is preferred.
• Professional email writing skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as CCH, Iris, TaxCalc, Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.
