Accountant

About the role

Rahat Impex is looking for an Accountant to support accurate financial recordkeeping and day-to-day accounting at its Karachi office. This is a full-time, on-site position that keeps accounts reliable and provides timely financial information for business decisions. The role requires careful handling of confidential information, accuracy and meeting recurring reporting deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Record and reconcile receipts, payments, invoices, journal entries and other transactions.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and organized supporting financial documentation.
• Prepare regular account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end closing and prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, follow up on outstanding balances and support payment processing.
• Coordinate with colleagues and respond to routine finance-related queries.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of bookkeeping, double-entry accounting and general ledger processes.
• Ability to reconcile bank, supplier, customer and other balance-sheet accounts accurately.
• Practical understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and payment records.
• Experience using accounting software or ERP systems and maintaining digital financial records.
• Knowledge of applicable Pakistani tax and statutory documentation is an advantage.
• Strong numerical accuracy, organization, discretion, clear communication and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheets, especially Microsoft Excel, for calculations, reconciliations and reports.
• Accounting software or ERP systems.
