Accounting Manager / Chief Accountant

About the role

Paramount Associates is looking for a seasoned Accounting Manager / Chief Accountant to oversee the financial operations and accounting functions of its restaurant on Feroxpur Road, Lahore. The role manages a team of 15 accounting and support staff and coordinates closely with other departments to keep financial data accurate and reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial accounting activities, including financial reporting, general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing in line with internal policies and external regulations.
• Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts and variance reports to support financial planning and decision-making.
• Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and compliance reports, and maintain adherence to tax regulations.
• Lead audit processes: prepare financial statements and schedules, work with internal and external auditors and resolve audit queries.
• Keep the accounting department aligned with IFRS and GAAP and update on framework changes.
• Supervise store management, including inventory control, stock reconciliation and cost management.
• Develop accounting policies and procedures and lead a team of 15 people, including hiring, training and performance evaluation.
• Collaborate with other departments, monitor cash flow and working capital, and run scenario planning and financial analysis.
• Maintain relationships with banks, financial institutions and statutory bodies, and drive continuous improvement in accounting processes.

Required profile

• At least five years of accounting experience.
• M.Com degree or CA finalist status; articleship experience from a reputed Chartered Accountancy firm is preferred.
• Experience in the restaurant industry is an advantage.
