Accounting Specialist – Financial Reporting & Controllership

About the role

The Accounting Specialist will support financial reporting and controllership for AG Pakistan, ensuring accurate US GAAP reporting, balance‑sheet reconciliations and insightful financial analysis. You will partner with cross‑functional teams and external auditors to drive process improvements and uphold compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and year‑end close for the Pakistan business, ensuring timely OneStream submissions and US GAAP compliance.
• Prepare and reconcile trading and EKA position‑based P&L, including analysis of gains, FX and hedge impacts.
• Coordinate Pakistan statutory financial reporting, tax compliance and audit support in partnership with Tax, Legal and Treasury.
• Maintain and optimize the Control 2.0 framework, improve reporting and data processes, and resolve balance‑sheet items such as inventory and accruals.

Required profile

• Accounting or finance degree with a professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience, including close, reporting and internal controls.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with Pakistan statutory reporting, preferably with Big 4 exposure.
• Ability to interpret trading results, balance‑sheet positions and commodity‑related accounting concepts.
